CONNOISSEUR INSTITUTE KIDS
After-School Construction Program for Teens
The Youth in Construction program is an engaging and educational after-school construction program designed specifically for teens (13-17 years old), prioritizing safety as its core principle. This program aims to introduce teens to the world of construction while instilling a strong foundation in safety practices.
Key Highlights:
1. Safety-Centric Approach: Youth in Construction places safety at the forefront of every activity. Teens are taught essential safety guidelines and practices, ensuring that they learn how to work with tools and materials in a responsible and secure manner.
2. Hands-On Learning: The program offers hands-on experiences that allow kids to explore basic construction techniques in a controlled and supervised environment. They learn how to use tools and equipment safely, promoting confidence and competence.
3. Qualified Instructors: Our instructors are experienced professionals with expertise in both construction and child safety. They guide students through each step of the building process, emphasizing the importance of protective gear and safety checks.
4. Structured Curriculum: Youth in Construction follows a structured curriculum that introduces teens to various aspects of construction, from simple woodworking projects to understanding blueprints. Each lesson integrates safety lessons, ensuring that children develop a safety-conscious mindset.
5. Small Class Sizes: We maintain small class sizes to ensure personalized attention and close supervision, allowing instructors to address individual safety concerns and provide guidance as needed.
6. Safety Equipment: Students are provided with appropriate safety gear, such as helmets, safety glasses, and gloves. During the program, they are taught how to wear and use this equipment correctly.
7. Safety Discussions: Regular safety discussions and group activities help students understand the importance of safety in construction. They learn to identify potential hazards and how to prevent accidents.
8. Parental Involvement: Youth in Construction encourages parental involvement by hosting occasional workshops and open houses where parents can witness their child’s progress and learn about safety measures themselves.
9. Fun and Creativity: While safety is paramount, Youth in Construction also fosters creativity and teamwork among participants. Students work on exciting projects that allow them to express their creativity while applying the safety principles they’ve learned.
10. Youth in Construction Graduation: The program concludes with a Youth in Construction Graduation ceremony, where children receive certificates of completion and demonstrate their newfound construction skills and safety knowledge.
